Perfection in its fifth generation.
The design of the BMW Motorrad System 5 helmet incorporates the latest features in function and design. Once again, the expertise shown by BMW Motorrad in the field of helmet construction has proven to be highly advanced. The aeroacoustically optimised form, the reduction in the amount of openings and edges and a range of further technical features all come together in a functional and dynamic design, to make the System 5 helmet one of the quietest on the market. Such a significant reduction in the constant noise level means that the rider is more concentrated and relaxed, and of course, safer. The helmet's can be easily handled with one hand and is readily convertible into a Jet helmet. The extensive range of accessories (such as the various neck and cheek pads, tinted or dual-pane visor) is standard for BMW.
- Colour: white - Helmet weight approx. 1.690 +/- 50 grams - Outer shell made of a fibreglass, carbon, KEVLAR® laminate manufactured in a hot-moulding process (ensures low tolerances). - Injection-moulded visor with a 3-D curvature, anti-scratch and anti-fog coating - Inner shell made of EPS (expanded polystyrene), consists of 8 individual segments (forehead, cranium, rear, temple left and right, cheek left and right, and chin section). - Interior lining made of top-grade DuPont Coolmax® with breathing capability, removable and washable - The face frame is a dual component version (the rubber seal is not glued on, but rather injection-moulded) with a twin sealing lip towards the visor and an additional sealing lip towards the helmet shell. Detent mechanism integrated into the face frame. - Chinstrap with easy-to-operate quick-action pushbutton mechanism, neckband and noise flaps attached to the chinstrap cover. - Open/close visor ventilation via slide, 2-way adjustable forehead/head ventilation. - The aerodynamic properties are on an extremely high level. The helmet is positioned neutrally in the airflow (no lift). Extremely low torsional forces occur whenever the rider turns his head. - The additional seal between the face frame and helmet shell ensures leak tightness in the rain, also on long trips. - The System Helmet V is prepared for the installation of communication systems. - The accessory cheek and neck cushions available in different sizes allow for a perfect adaptation of the helmet to the personal needs of the rider (individual head shape) - Homologated in accordance with ECE 22, version 5
